Greenwood School
Greenwood School was located west of Sadlers Chapel church northwest of Dexter. In 1916 a tornado wiped out the school. See the "Stoddard" under "Communities" to get the full story of the tornado.
The log cabin located in Bloomfield Park was built in 1888 by Morton Bennett with the help of his father-in-law Theodore Lemon Sherrard. Bennett was born November 5, 1867 and his wife, Elizabeth (Sherrard) was born September 16, 1867. they were married at Essex, Missouri on April 22, 1888. All four of their children were born in the cabin. The cabin was originally built 2 miles north of Circle City. The cabin was donated to the Stoddard County Historical society in the early 1970s by Ted Davis.
