Mort E. Freeman and his daughter Clara (1907) in front of their new home in Gray Ridge, Stoddard County, Missouri. The Freeman family came from Indiana, Mort's father fought in the 128th Indiana Infantry during the Civil War. He moved to Gray Ridge about 1878.
Gray Ridge
Gray Ridge is a north and south running ridge that is six miles in length and about a half mile wide. William Gray originally owned land on the ridge and when the railroad was built, a stop was added to the newly named Gray Ridge community.
